Philoptochos
About Us
The word “Philoptochos,” meaning “friend of the poor,” encapsulates this multi-faceted organization whose philanthropy extends to those who are hungry, forgotten, displaced, abused, suffering illness or simply needing the help of the Church. The philanthropic endeavors of the Greek Orthodox Ladies Philoptochos Society is a genuine expression of love and Christian Charity. This expression of love is evident in the multitude of meaningful programs and services that reach those in need on a local, national and global level. See Charities We Support for a list of current, ongoing efforts.
Locally, our Philoptochos Chapter continues to support worthy organizations that serve some of our most vulnerable neighbors including: The Gray House, St. Basil Academy, the Baystate Hospital NICU, and Philoxenia House.
