Christmas Concert Holiday Grand Chorus
This year’s Christmas Concert to benefit Cancer patients will be held Sunday, December 8th, 2024, at 3:30 pm at St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral. It will feature the Western New England University Concert Band under the direction of Ted Levine, and the Western Massachusetts Singers for Survivors under the direction of Nikki Stoia.
Rick Marcil, who is the Minister of Music for the East Longmeadow United Methodist Church, will again conduct the Holiday Grand Chorus. The chorus will be made up of singers from the Greater Springfield area, and all are welcome regardless of experience. The music will consist of singable holiday selections and will be accompanied by the Cathedral organist, James Evanggeliou.
The only rehearsals for the chorus will be held at the Nativity of the Theotokos Chapel, which is attached to the Greek Cultural Center, 22 St. George Road, Springfield, on the following dates:
- Saturday, 11/30, 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm
- Thursday, 12/05, 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm
- Saturday, 12/07 – Sopranos 12:00, Altos 1:00, Tenors 2:00, Basses 3:00
